december!

although its not quite as cold as i would like, winter is definitely here and i'm loving it! i've already got all of my presents bought for friends and family, and that is NOT something typical of me.  i feel pretty proud of myself.  also, i get a short week at work because on wednesday, taylor and i are going to north carolina to visit his mom and dad! his brother philip is gonna stop by too, and i'm so excited to get to do this with taylor again.  he hasn't seen his parents since the last trip (christmas also.)

ok so NO, me and taylor are not engaged (yet :P).  I have a good friend that agreed to give us a freebie photo shoot bc i cut her hair.  and she did a magnificent job...mag-ni-fi-cent.  here's just a few.  for the rest, check fb.

haha so some were pretty goofy.  but my dearest beth got some keepers as well.  i love them all.  thanks again! i'm probably gonna make one into a christmas card for the fam.

on another note, taylor and i have been leisurely walking around a few jewelry stores :D!! he has a good idea of what i like now and we got my finger sized and he told me we can't talk about rings anymore.  guess he wants it to be unexpected, and that's ok with me!

other things to look forward to:
seeing my family over the holidays!
presents! hehe.  but i mean giving AND getting, because i found some awesome stuff for my loved ones :)
a nice long break from work
maaaaybe a skiing trip?
on the 9th, it will be 1 1/2 years with taylor

till then...

October Catch-Up

So halloween wasn't as cool as it usually is.  I got sick :( it started with a really sore throat that made me miss work on wednesday, and it went into a full blown cold through the weekend.  needless to say, i wasn't feeling up to wearing my costume.  i had the best idea too! ah well...maybe i can be a pirate's booty next year.

however, i went to a murder mystery dinner with tay (compliments of his internship) and it was pretty cool.  we were told to dress up 20's style so i had to hurry and pull something together.  it wasn't a perfect costume, but tay liked it!

you cant see it, but i have a black feather thingy in my hair, which was taylor's favorite part. ha.

we also went to rock the republic as VIP guests, which meant we could eat and drink for free in the designated area.  it was okay, except we were both so tired from the week that we went home early...gotta love being old.

but now its november! and thanksgiving is coming up and i am getting way too excited about it.  its harder to see the whole fam in the winter, so i'll be so happy to see them.  we usually have 2-3 full blown thanksgivings in my family, so the recent diet i'm trying to implement into my life is going to suffer this month.  trying to lose 15 pounds by christmas.  i'll keep ya informed on whether or not i fail miserably.

august 3rd. It's on.

as promised, me and my friend have decided to go to europe and we picked a date! august 3rd-24th, which is 3 about weeks, is going to be devoted to europe time, even though we're only shooting for about 2 1/2 weeks there.  here's a rough draft of what i want to do, and i mean rough.  it doesn't even have every place we want to go yet. so here:

Map of Europe

Germany

Hohenzollern Castle   Stuttgart, Germany      http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hohenzollern_Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle    Fussen (Bavaria), Germany  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuschwanstein
Cologne Cathedral      Cologne, Germany           http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cologne_Cathedral

Italy

Rome

The Vatican..home to:

Florence. Supposed to be the most beautiful city in the world
The Accademia Gallery has Michelangelo’s David and other famous art. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accademia_di_Belle_Arti_Firenze
And that’s only the start really..Florence is a must.

France
Ummm…paris.
Louvre Museum has almost every famous piece of artwork you could think of  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louvre
Palace of Versailles in Versailles, Fance (not far from paris) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palace_of_Versailles

We also want to go to belgium, the netherlands maybe, and ireland.  I have a friend over in germany right now, and he says he didn't hear many good things about brussels.  who knows.  we're not trying to be tourists.  we just want to experience it all..or at least as much as we can in 2+ weeks.

it's friday once again.  the weeks are going by quicker it seems.  i'm loving the fall weather.  we opened all the windows at our place last night and i woke up fabulously chilly this morning.  i'd much rather be cold than hot.  i'm getting excited to buy some pumpkins! we've gotta carve some masterpieces this year, to beat last's:

pretty legit.  also...tay and i decided what we're gonna be for halloween.  he's gonna be a pirate and i'm gonna be his "booty." ha.  i gotta dress up in gold and wear a bunch of costume jewelry.  and yes, i thought of it myself! i love halloween. i love fall. i love not waking up sweaty.

and fall means that winter is coming soon! me and tay are going to visit his mom in north carolina for about a week. then its back to work for a little while and then christmas! eeek! i already have presents in mind for my sisters.  i bought a 120 eyeshadow palette from red ginger cosmetics (on sale) for myself and i love it.  i think they will too.

in other news, burn the floor is coming to college station, and i've been trying desperately to get free tickets off the radio, because the prices are stupid expensive.  so if anyone out there has tickets for a discounted rate, hit me up! anyone? ..i think i can hear crickets chirping.

so i have a lot to look forward to in this coming year! just keeping my head up, i'm so ready to get out of cstat.  come on taylor! let's get that degree!

Tuesday, October 12

well hello!

first of all, i'm not sure who would want to read this.  so let me start by saying this is going to be used as a vessel for my thoughts that don't seem to get across to my friends, mom, etc.  I don't realize how much I keep things in until i explode...that being said, this wont be a rant blog. promise.

I've always liked the idea of keeping a journal or writing a blog, but i would always try and realize that i can sum up a lot of stuff in a few sentences.  with my entries lacking in the length department, the blogging endeavor would crash and burn.  so this is a fresh start to documenting what goes on in the day-to-day exciting, exhilerating, and many more -ing words of my life. at least lets hope.

unless i was writing a paper for class, I never bothered with correct grammar.  i dont like proper grammar. ew. i more or less just write what i'm thinking, and since i can type as fast as i think, the mechanics of writing tend to fall by the wayside. BUT, i absolutely hate acronyms like ttyl, brb, lmao, etc.  even in a text, the most i'll do is an occasional lol.  so i'm sorry for all you ocd's and english teachers that are going to read this (ha), but just bear with me and take it all in stride :)

ok first things first.  i graduated college in four years, surprisingly, and found myself staying in college station and working in the lab that i interned at.  i knew that i wasn't going to try to keep living with my roommate, who i kept butting heads with, so there was definitely going to be a move in one way or another.  i was at a crossroads:  find another lab to work at in another town and venture out into the great unknown that is...not college station.  or, stay in town and be with the love of my life, taylor, while he finishes school.  call me a hopeless romantic, but i opted for the latter and here i am, living with my best friend/boyfriend, working at a diagnostic lab as their tech.  at the time it was a very stressful decision, but thinking back i'm so glad i did.  i never thought i would live with a boy unless he was more of a husband-ish type guy.  then i realized that love doesn't come with a rule book.  that's all i have to say about that.  no one i care about cares about it, and that's all that matters to me. i love all you guys, by the way.

speaking of people i love, my close friends have got to be the 4, count em, 4 people that are responsible for the person i am.  i met them all in college, and if that's not explanation enough, then go to college.  but they've all moved away chasing their dreams and so far its sad, but i know when i see them next its going to be the exact same, crazy fun times like always.

back to taylor.  what do i even say?  you keep me sane. you are the only person that can handle me in any mood that i decide to throw at you.  you are the outgoing, outspoken, everyone-loves-you type of person that i can only dream to be.  living with you is easy, like how loving you is easy.  (insert word) with you is easy.  you fit so well.  gah.  that's all. love you.

so since this was just the intro post and i'm on my lunch break at work, i'll leave it here.  i'm going to try to find more about an possible europe trip and i promise to post as soon as its more set in stone.  i hope this blog lasts till the trip.  it would be nice to have something to documents all the memories into.

till then- its all a little in between.
